What is A Watchman?
A watchman is a leader in a congregation of people. The book of Isaiah says that being a watchman is a calling. Watchmen lift their voices to build up and prepare the way for the people.

A watchman…
brings awareness to the congregation.

is willing to have vision and carry out a purpose.

has a spirit of compassion and concern
to bring a peaceful way of living to people.

What is “The Watchman Program” – A Faith In Action Program?

Hospice Cleveland County recognizes religious congregations as one of the cornerstones for service delivery to the community. “The Watchman Program” – A Faith in Action Program is a further extension of the ministry provided by churches and Hospice Cleveland County.

The goal of the “The Watchman Program” – A Faith in Action Program is to identify and train one person in each congregation who will serve as the Hospice Watchman Volunteer. Having a trained Watchman Volunteer from each congregation will ensure that the needs of the church family will be conveyed to Hospice Cleveland County and more people will have the opportunity to receive Hospice services. The program helps to ensure that every patient who wants a volunteer has the opportunity to benefit from the support and care a volunteer can provide.

Also, Watchman churches are so important for providing much needed donations to our agency.
